Kingston KTA-MB1066K2/4GR Review by Indolent (Ohio, USA/London, UK)
I feel a bit stupid for having only just realized that it IS possible for the user to replace/upgrade the RAM in aluminum MacBooks, at least in the late 2008 model that I own. I'd maxed out the RAM in the previous two Apple laptops I owned, but somehow got the idea in my head that it couldn't be done in this model and that any RAM upgrade would need to be done at unnecessarily high expense via the Genius Bar at the local Apple Store. So like I said, I felt rather silly when I finally figured out last week that I could have done it myself the very day I bought this laptop 2 1/2 years ago. Sigh.
So. It may be two and a half years later, but I just installed my new RAM modules, and my laptop is now running like a dream. It should be obvious from all the above that I am not exactly an expert on all things technical (or it wouldn't have taken me over two years to verify whether I could do this myself or not!) so if I say it was VERY simple and fast to install the new memory, you'll know that if I can do it, anyone can do it. It took maybe ten minutes from start to finish, following the very clear and easy instructions on the Apple website. Remove battery cover, remove battery, unscrew back panel, pull out the old RAM, click the new RAM into place, screw back panel on again, put battery back in, replace battery cover - done! I'm glad I took heed of the "customers who bought this product also bought..." suggestion and ordered a size #00 Philips screwdriver along with the RAM, as it made the removal of all those tiny screws a breeze and meant that I didn't repeat the screw-stripping mistakes of my first-ever RAM-upgrading efforts a decade ago. If you're planning on replacing your own RAM and don't already own one of these teeny-tiny Philips screwdrivers, I'd highly recommend you get one! I'd also recommend the purchase of something I didn't have to hand - some canned air. There was a worrying amount of fuzz and dust on the inside of my poor laptop. I'll have to do something about that...
So, in summary - this product works perfectly and is compatible with my Mac as promised. What more could I ask for?

Processes are way faster, cannot believe I waited so long to install more RAM! Installation was easy, well worth the ~$30!
Kingston KTA-MB1066K2/4GR Review by Ryan
It works perfectly for my fall 2009 white Macbook, 2.24 GHZ dual-core. I originally had 2GB of RAM and the upgrade to OSX Lion was bogging down my computer. The upgrade to 4GB fixed the slowness! Make sure to order the tiny phillips screw driver to remove the bottom cover.
Steps to replace the RAM:
1. Power off your computer.
2. Carefully remove the 8 screws from the bottom cover. Don't lose them!!
3. The RAM pops up and you just slide the 2 RAM units out.
4. Replace them with the new RAM. Make sure to put them in the same way the old ones came out.
5. Replace the bottom cover
6. Turn on your MacBook and your OS will automatically recognize the new hardware. Check your "About this Mac" to confirm that your Mac recognizes the hardware.
EASY!
